About

Brief Bio:

Stefani Reinold, MD, MPH is a board certified psychiatrist, primarily specializing in women's mental health issues, including pregnancy and postpartum and eating disorders.  She is also the creator of the HEART™ method, a self-led therapy strategy; the author of the book, Let Your Heart Out; and host of the podcast, It's Not About the Food.

She is passionate about helping women ditch the details of life and reconnect with the desires of their hearts. She loves praising Jesus, encouraging women, talking business, sharing #realmotherhood, and bashing diet culture.

She treats individual patients and supervises mental health professionals in her private practice in San Antonio, TX. If you can't visit her in person, you can hear her encouraging voice and wise words in her podcast, It's Not About the Food, or her book, Let Your Heart Out.

Extended Bio:

She graduated from Baylor University Honors College in 2008 with a major in Biology and concentrations in Chemistry and Medical Humanities. She attended medical school at University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. She graduated from UTHSC's dual degree program, receiving both her doctorate of medicine (MD) and Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree in four years. While in medical school, she spent  significant time serving and volunteering for the San Antonio's homeless population and completed research on the medical needs of the Haven for Hope homeless shelter. She was involved in student government as Fundraising Chair of her class. And her other passion in medical school was in humanities, where she served as editor-in-chief of the literary arts magazine, Connective Tissue.

She completed her adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. where she trained at the renown Five Trimesters Clinic. While at GWU, she concentrated her training on perinatal mental health or reproductive psychiatry. She presented on Binge Eating Disorders in Pregnancy, both at the national and international level. Her training in psychodynamic psychotherapy informs her therapeutic practice to date. She also borrows theories from acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Despite her accolades professionally, what has informed her psychiatric practice more than anything else has been her past eating disorder and personal experience with postpartum depression. Her mission is in helping moms to overcome their daily struggles so they can truly find the true desires of their hearts and live their most authentic lives.
